Health Systems and Services
For a highly climate-vulnerable country like India, variability in climate directly impacts the economic and social fabric of the country. This has an immediate effect on the healthcare services and their access along with personal health and well-being of individuals. To address these pervasive impacts of climate on health systems, there is a need to create knowledge that fills the gap in our understanding around this issue and foster cross-sector collaboration with actors in the space.
ClimateRISE convened a high-level roundtable at COP28:
In collaboration with SELCO Foundation, the alliance co-hosted a roundtable to reflect on the impact of climate change on health of the most marginalised communities in India. COP28 had an exclusive focus on health with an entire day being dedicated to discussing the climate and health intersection. This roundtable was one of the few discussions that deliberated on the issue from the lens of community resilience in the Global South.
