Nestled within the heart of India lies a treasure of natural resources, encompassing rich biodiversity, flourishing wildlife, and diverse ecosystems. The goal of this working group is to enhance their protection and conservation. By convening the various partner organisations under this working group, the Alliance has made significant strides in filling knowledge and amplification gaps. Partnered with Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy to build awareness on existing laws around environment:
The Alliance has partnered with Vidhi to streamline public consultancy process for biodiversity laws, reduce current policy gaps and create awareness on the impact of existing laws on the environment.
Collaborated with Ecological Restoration Alliance (ERA) for the Restoring Natural Ecologies (RNE) Conference:
With a mix of partners, RNE brought together over 140+ practitioners, experts, landscaper, designers, permaculturists and students from across India to discuss various aspects of ecological restoration based on biogeographical regions. Some important solutions that emerged from the event call for a community-centric and multi-stakeholder approach in restoration projects. A need to engage with grassroots movements and youth was also identified among other things.
